ICYMI: The aim of this study is to highlight the importance and the benefits of mental training in order to obtain high performance in athletes who are jiu-jitsu practitioners and also reveal some of main points that take the technical development of this unique sport due to the athlete's individual adaptive property. The methodology adopted was a systematic review of the literature. It was concluded that, although the scarcity of studies that address the theme of mental training for jiu-jitsu particular athletes, mental training is fully beneficial from this sport. Getting positive results for the evolution of the movement through repetition, preview and continued form, as well as for the technical development of the sport.
